Fire door replacement and certification

Fire door removal in high-risk Ausgrid environments — delivered with the specialist capability, licensing and discipline required inside live substations, confined spaces and hazardous materials zones.

Across the Ausgrid network, many legacy fire doors no longer meet current compliance standards — and a significant number contain asbestos or sit within high-risk operational environments.

Ausgrid’s own documentation identifies asbestos as historically present in fire doors, and requires contractors to follow strict asbestos registers, safe-work procedures and network standards. Our team is fully aligned with these requirements, ensuring every door is assessed, planned and removed under the correct controls.

Licensed asbestos fire door removal

Many older fire doors across Ausgrid sites contain bonded or friable asbestos. We hold the appropriate Class A licensing and operate under SafeWork NSW and Ausgrid’s asbestos management frameworks — including air monitoring, enclosure controls and independent clearance certification where required.

Working inside live substations

A large portion of this work occurs within operational substations. Our crews comply with Ausgrid’s Electrical Safety Rules and NS165 requirements, working under strict access protocols, designated officer oversight and documented safe systems of work.

Confined space & restricted access

Where fire doors are located in confined spaces or restricted areas, we manage all entry, atmospheric testing, rescue planning and continuous monitoring. Our systems meet Ausgrid’s expectations for high-risk access environments.

Proven delivery across the network

We’ve removed large volumes of non-compliant fire doors across Ausgrid facilities for more than five years — often in challenging locations, under tight operational constraints, and with hazardous materials present.
